IMPORTANT! Be sure to put something legitimate in the subject line of your email, such as "placing order" or "questions about placing an order", etc. If I don't see a reasonable subject line, I will assume that the email is spam and delete it without opening it.

On The March provides high quality German WWII uniforms for discerning reenactors and collectors.

Rule #5:

All orders will require a 50% deposit prepaid before any work begins. No exceptions--ever! Just to clarify, an order is not an order until the deposit is on account. Until then, it's only a quote.

Rule #6:

Cancellation Policy. I've never had a cancellation policy before, but one is really needed. Here it is:

  • If no work has been started, the deposit is returned less any Paypal or other fees I've incurred in accepting the deposit, and a $25 admin fee.
  • If patterning work has been started, the labor costs will be deducted from the deposit at a rate of $25/hr, and a $25 admin fee.
  • If the fabric is already cut, the patterning and cutting labor costs ($25/hr), the material costs, and a $25 admin fee will be deducted from the deposit.

Now, all this being said--and yes, my attitude has really soured over the last couple of years because of all the cheapskates who want
a Ferrari for the price of an used Escort--if you are still willing to support an American business, I'll be happy to help
you get your quality German uniform.

After much thought and debate, I've decided to move away from made-to-measure uniforms. It will be faster to make all products to the standard patterns and standard fabrics. Ordering will be much simpler, as all you have to do is order the standard size (38R, 44L, etc.) and any add-ons that you need (insignia, thread loops, etc). If the tunic or trousers need altering, then you can send it back to me or take it to another tailor.

However, certain garments require made-to-measure to fit properly, and for this reason Officers/NCO breeches, Officers/NCO Summerweight tunics, and Piped Dress Trousers will remain available for order as made-to-measure garments.

I'm also announcing my rumored "Economy Line." Again, I debated quite a while whether or not to restart this line, but most of the guys out there want a mid-price-range tunic, even tho it's not perfect and not 100% accurate in the details. See the "Economy Line" page for details. Keep in mind that I do not have a stock of these tunics yet!

I have no plans to make "economy" or "standard pattern" officer's tunic at this time.

Rule #1:

No complaints on how long your stuff is taking. I sew part-time, not full-time, as my schedule allows. Please plan ahead! Allow a lead time of at least 8 to 12 months. It's often a bit longer, but quality takes time :-)

Rule #2:

Price: It costs what it costs. OTM is a business, not a charity.

Rule #3:

Please, no whining or getting irate if you don't get your own way. I'm a detail nut and will follow my authentic examples, not the prevailing junk that has flooded the market in the last few years.

I've examined dozens, and have lived, worked, breathed, ate, slept, and virtually mind-melded with German uniforms for the last 12 years. It's a safe bet that I know what I'm doing.

Rule #4:

Get accurate measurements. This cannot be stressed enough. Either accept the risk by having your girlfriend take your measurements or GO TO A TAILOR. It's worth the extra $35.
